Why work with me?

There are many coaches offering similar services, so why would working with me be different?

I’ve been there. I understand firsthand through my own career journey and old-fashioned life experience that job hunting and career change can be tough. Especially when faced with life-changing events such as illness, divorce, starting a family, single parenthood and more.

In 2017, after the birth of my second child, I founded Career Cafe Coach to support people who find job hunting challenging.  People who want to be empowered on their journey and stop feeling stuck.

I now work with people who I used to meet in my recruiting days but didn't have the time to give the support and advice they clearly wanted and needed during their job search.

I love watching my clients grow, gain confidence from coaching and start to see the world of work through different eyes.

Many of my clients have had excellent careers and they have great job prospects but they lack the confidence and the right support to help them change direction or find work they love.

Recruitment agencies and Work Coaches often don't have the time or resources to spend supporting them one to one.

Are you putting on a brave face? ( I know I often did!) Do you lack clarity and direction?  Do you feel like you are going around in circles? Do you lack the time to make impactful changes to your working life?

I can help you with this.

Career coaching helps you to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

If you feel ready to make change, I would love to meet you!

By the way;

Outside of work, you’ll find me running around after our 6-year-old, or swimming in my favourite spa just down the road. Working on my coaching business, associate coaching for outplacement and redundancy, and coaching my private clients on Zoom. I am passionate about continuous learning and I have recently completed my ILM Level 7 Leadership Coaching and Mentoring qualification. I live in a wonderful community with bags of countryside, perfect for walking.

I also love drinking good coffee, vegan food (although I am not strictly vegan) and spending time in our garden. My husband is the gardener!

I would highly recommend Jo for Career Coaching and I have found her so helpful when making changes in my career. Jo is a great listener and really understands her subject. She has an authentic approach to coaching and makes the whole experience really positive!

I picked up coaching with Jo after a decision to move on to the next step in my career. From our initial call Jo was personable, highly professional and really took the time to get to understand me as an individual as well as the outcomes I wanted to achieve. Using Jo’s knowledge, thought provoking tasks and ideas to research I was surprised how much I enjoyed the process and how much I learnt in a short space of time. Jo has such a positive energy to the way she works, finding possibilities and strengths in every aspect we covered, I left each session with renewed motivation and confidence in what I could achieve. My 8 session course with Jo has left me with knowledge and tools that I will be able to use throughout my career life - highly recommended for anyone looking for a career change or just a renewed sense of purpose to the way they work.
